Why Use A Thermostat With Dual Receptacles?
For extra large enclosures, or setups in homes where night-time temperatures can drop below 16 degrees Celsius it can be necessary to have multiple heat sources within an enclosure. Of course, you can use two separate thermostats, but you’ll need to find extra sockets, deal with multiple wires, and contend with potential interference across multiple sensors within the vivarium.
With a dual receptacle vivarium you can connect two heat sources to a single unit, making it easier to control the temperature as well as reducing the amount of ‘clutter’ both inside and outside of the vivarium.
This means you can combine a basking spot lamp with a heat mat, or perhaps a heating cable for night times with a ceramic heat lamp for higher day time temperatures. Whatever your setup needs, this thermostat may be the best option for controlling them.
This thermostat will let you control two different units with a maximum of 300w per appliance in each socket. The temperature can be set from 10 – 60 degrees and the day.night setting lets you create a more natural environment for your pet.
