Why Use Tortoise Life Bio
This blend of quality loam, soft fine sand and coconut husk has been created to provide a recreation of the soils found in the natural habitats of many tortoise species. It has added coconut husk to create a lighter substrate without the addition of mineral content – increasing the organic material in the mix helps to provide peace of mind if the substrate is accidently ingested.
How To Use
Spread the substrate evenly across the base of your enclosure up to a depth of around 5cm for young animals and up to 15cm for more mature pets. If you are keeping Russian species of tortoise you can add more substrate to support their urge for burrowing.
Spot clean daily and replace completely at least once a month.
Spray localised areas as required to provide humidity but avoid making the substrate too wet or waterlogged.
